Tide Runners is the culmination of eight years' work by photographer and author Tim Barnwell. He documents the daily lives and activities of the shrimpers and fisherman of the coastal areas of North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. Over 110 full page color photographs are combined with extensive oral history interviews with his subjects where they relate stories of their daily lives and describe their activities. This beautiful portrayal documents this fading way of life and allows readers to witness and understand this fascinating culture.
